From the Committee
On what felt like the hottest day of the year, it was terrific to see so many members at the club ride in memory to Trace Allen earlier in June. We hope it was a fitting tribute to Trace and what he has done for the club and its members over many years. The picture below was taken at the start.
You will have probably seen the communication on Facebook about the work that James has done on refreshing the club logo and redesigning the club kit. We should be able to formally launch this during July, so watch out in your inbox for the announcements.
June results are shown below but a couple that are particularly noteworthy: Terry Bonnet won his age group at the UK Aquathlon Championships and Heather Hobbs has qualified for the UCI Gran Fondo World Championships later this year – congratulations to them and to everyone else who took part in races this past month.
It’s a great time of year to open water swim, cycle and run in the warm weather but don’t forget to stay safe out there and look out for each other.
Herts Championships: A reminder that the Standard Distance Herts Club championships takes place on 20 Aug. this is also referred to as the Herts Summer Tri. Only Hoddesden put out a full team for the sprint championships in May and as a result retained their trophy. It would be great if we could get a full quota of age groups to put a challenge to them at this race.
You can enter on the ATW website here.
New Members: A warm welcome to new members Andrew Lunn, Luke Sieger, Phillip Moss, John Broom and Nicola Brigden who joined the club in the last month.
Duathlons; : The next and final club duathlon of the season will take place on 2ndSeptember.
Don’t forget to submit your race report on the forum / Facebook to be included in the club annual competition.
If there are any other results that have been inadvertently missed, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org so they can be included in a future newsletter.
Please add your upcoming races to the spreadsheet on the web by clicking here. A great way to find out if there are any other Tri-Force members at your races. You can still of course use the forum or Facebook for updates. Also don’t forget to post your race reports also on the forum or Facebook.

Recipe of the Month: Carrot Cake Baked Oatmeal bars
This is a really easy recipe to make and in my opinion is much better than some shop bought oatmeal bars.
Bake for 35-45 minutes, until golden and slightly crispy. Leave to cool for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to firm up.
